During the lessons of English language and Slovak language our students had an unusual experience with reading and interpreting poems. The Ode on Grecian Urn by John Keats and City dwellers by Wolfenstein in Slovak language were introduced in an uncommon way. The students were working in groups and each group had a poster with a stanza. They had to express the meaning of the symbols and ideas by drawing and painting. They were excited and the interpretation was a great success.

We created a blog called Bookworm Readers:

where the students of our school (but the students of the project partners can post) are able to upload articles about the books they have read. They can give each other a short hint of the plot, they can attract our bloggers with the feelings they have had and motivate each other.

We are international group of teachers from Sweden, Spain and Croatia, and we are in Prague in January 23 – 29 on a course “Project Management – How to Make Your School International”. One way of getting ideas of making your school international is by visiting international schools. We were lucky that in Prague we have great hosts – it is Stredni škola Nahorni, or High Vocational Art School.

Those students who have books which they don ´t need any more. Or they have books which they would like to exchange for something different, could bring these books to our book market. We have organised a book market which started to take place on 19. December 2016 and will continue until the end of this school year. The students can choose newer titles which they are interested in.

Střední škola Náhorní from Czech Republic started a new school competition for the rest of the school year named Sing that song! ... in Czech!!! Every month, teachers choose an English song after which students are supposed to find its lyrics on the Internet and interpret it in Czech following the published criteria. At the end of the month, the best interpretations are awarded and displayed in the school.

Professional meeting of the Croatian language professors "Contemporary literature text between context and learning" was held January 9^th 2017 in the Natural sciences school Vladimir Prelog in Zagreb.
